“I bought him as a middle distance horse and didn’t expect him to be in this game but he’s damn good at it, actually. He’s inexperienced in his first preparation doing it. He’s a young horse and a good future ahead of him.

“Tommy gave him a lovely ride in behind them and got around the right horses at the right time.

“Years ago we pre-trained a nice jumper called Transferral but this is our first serious go.”

Why Out And Dreaming reverted to the jumps: “He wasn’t being that genuine on the flat. Then he started jumping and he thrived on it. In between Warrnambool and today he’s really come on. Looking forward to the rest of the prep with him.

“The Horner boys have done all the work with him and for different reasons they weren't on him today.”

“He was very good to be fair to him. ‘Nobby’ said that he thought he’d improved since Warrnamboool and he thought he was in the form of his life.

“I was full of running on the turn. After jumping the second last I was happy being where I was. We didn’t go really slowly, we went a nice gallop and nothing crazy.

“I said to Nobby before we went out, he’s doing a job like he’s been around forever and he’ll definitely jump fences in future. His future is very bright.”
