“He’s got a pretty good record. He was a bit backward (early) and he didn’t race until he was four-years-old. I think he’s getting tougher with more racing.

“Big gap between races and keeping him happy, he doesn’t take much work.

1200m his best distance: “I think so. He’s very relaxed at home but he just get a little bit keen on race days so with having big gaps between runs probably helps.”

Jamie Kah: “Everything just seems to travel for her. Everything is just so easy. Great to have her on.

Asked if it “helps having J Kah on: “It does but it doesn’t help the price! I thought he should be about $8!”

“First time (on the horse) so I can’t take any credit for that. Really happy for Richard Cully. He’s a terrific trainer and just happy that I could get the steer on the horse. He did all the work and I just sat there.

“He just said (for the horse to be) where he’s happy. Obviously he was going to be on-pace. He jumped nicely but they just went a bit steady for him and he got keen enough in the early stages but I held him together and he had plenty late. He’s a tough horse with a big heart.

“It wasn’t as easy as the other two (winners today). He was never in doubt but he was giving his all and tiring on the line but he was very tough.

“Placed right this time of year, he can win more races.”
