“I was quite happy that there was a bit of tempo because last start was a bit of a sit and sprint. You’ve still got (had) the question mark over whether she can stay or not but with the speed on and she had a kick and I think she had a little bit more to improve, too.
“I was looking at the backmarkers and seeing what they were doing but she hit the line pretty good. We’ll got to 2000 metres, if she can handle that then we’ll go to 2500.”
Next run: “I think it will be the Ethereal and then the Oaks.”
Winning Jockey: Craig Williams
“Jerome Hunter recommended this horse to me. He had a very high opinion of her and I could see why he was very excited.
“One thing I’m really loving with the journey and this filly is the steps that Jerome is taking. Just letting her be, and can be. He’s letting her do the talking for us and she keeps on stepping up to the mark.
“He’s had a program in his mind and he’s had to alter that a fraction. He’s made the right steps and decisions with her with regard to really furnishing this girl in her first preparation towards this year’s Kennedy Oaks.”
More pace in the race today than last time: “It was a true test at 1800 metres today where in all of her races to-date, bar her first race start, there has been a lack of tempo and positioning has been really important to how the races have been run and won. She’s only had to dash up probably 400 or 500 metres.
“But today she had to show her substance and we got to see that today under full pressure.”
