“Went really well. I was a bit concerned, it looked like he wanted to overdo it a bit early but I think he’s got a soft mouth and doesn’t really enjoy the tongue tie so it looked worse than it was.
“Jamie rode him beautifully and it was just nice to see him run through the line so solidly.”
What’s next: “We’re not really sure. We’re just it one race at a time. Obviously with two-year-olds you’re not sure how they’re going to pull up but all going well, he likes soft tracks so Queensland is an option.
“He’s a good worker, an ultimate professional. Today he marched up here. He’s like an old gelding which is half the battle with these two-year-olds. He’s had that trip away to Adelaide already so he’s a seasoned professional already.”
Winning Jockey: Jamie Kah
“I was happy to sit second. I’ve got a pretty good opinion of this horse and it’d be nice to teach him to not have to jump and run every start. He wasn’t pulling but he’s got quite and awkward head carriage and hold his head high and do a little bit wrong which is positive going forward that there’s things to work on.
“He took that extra hundred metres (to settle) which I wasn’t worried about because he’s classy horse. If he can learn to drop the bit and settle, I think he’s going to be a nice horse. All he can do it win and he did that pretty easily.”
