“It was an outstanding training performance by Gai and Adrian. Great sense of timing the way the prep has worked out.

“They have the team firing at the moment. She came down off the back of a maiden at Kembla Grange. They sort of ran around but she was just standoff-ish to put some headgear on because it was only early in the prep and the Thousand Guineas is the ultimate goal.

“She never drew a gate. She came down and sat three-wide the trip first-up and was beaten three-lengths behind Zouzarella. Didn’t draw a gate again with the fastest last 600 of the meeting, gets beaten three lengths again.

“Today, drew a gate, Jordie Childs jumped her out last Friday and he said pre-race that she’ll just win.

<Hasn’t committed to next outing but Thousand Guineas possible>.

“Jordan rode her second-up and she has a tendency to lay in a bit and he suggested to try the winkers and because he’s such a strong left-handed rider Gai left him on. You’ll see where she had a good think about it at the 200 (metre mark) to suck back and toll back to the rail, he let her know and his strength showed.”

“I think the winkers were a good edition. I trialled her with them last week and she trialled very well at Flemington. She’s a hard going horse, she doesn’t like horses around her.

“She really dug in for the fight. I felt her, once they started to join her, she dug deep and she took a bit of effort to pull her up as well. I think the horse is going very well.”

Can she step up to a mile: “I think so. Why not. She won impressively today. As long as she comes through that run good and Gai is happy with her, I can’t see why she couldn’t step up to that level.”

His recent form: “I’m starting to get into a bit of a groove now and getting a few more bigger winners on the board. Gai has been good. I’ve been doing a bit of work for her and she’s been putting me on some nice horses so hopefully that can continue.”
