Broke track record: “Unbelievable.
“He’s just a happy horse. He doesn’t go to the track very often and does most of his work on the treadmill. He’s just a trier.”
Long prep keeping going: “It is probably because he doesn’t go to the track very often. A horse that doesn’t really have to work (too much).
“I thought he was better when we put him on the treadmill. We do heart rate tests and lactate, all his preps he’s got better as he goes on but this is it for him tonight. He’s going for a holiday now. We don’t want to run him on hard tracks.
The plan is the Winter Championship with the wet tracks.”
<Has 10 horses in work>
Winning Jockey: Jye McNeil
“He’s super honest, the team have done a great job with him, placing him, keeping him in good order and racing so well. I’ve only had the privilege of being on him the last few starts and we’ve seemed to really get along well and clicked together. It’s great to be back in the winner’s stall.”
“It was a pretty quick tempo in the early stages, I didn't want Iconoclasm getting into a position where he was going to be too far out in front that we weren’t going to catch him. I had to get after him a little earlier than I would’ve liked and it put him out of his comfort zone a little bit, but he chased after him really tough and dug deep over the final stages.”
