“A plan that came off. Delighted with her. We’ve just moved our stables to Flemington and she’s our first winner here since our stables have been here and our first winner at Flemington on ‘home turf’.
“Go Plucky. I’m delighted for her and the team. It’s really incredible to be a part of this week and to be a part of Kennedy Oaks Day and have a winner, it’s special.
“Luck just wasn’t on her side (at Hamilton) but we’ll forget about that. We’ll remember today and we’ll remember (the win at) Mornington. I’m delighted.
“Brett has been doing a lot with us at the track and I’m standing on the shoulders of many. I couldn’t be happier.”
Winning Jockey: Brett Prebble
Run in the race: “I had to (pinch runs) with the 59.5 (kgs), I was mindful of that, I had to go back from the big gate.”
“I’ve done a lot of work on this horse. To win on this day is pretty special for the team. JK he’s put a lot of money in and he’s just starting off and he’s going to be one of the big players in the future.”
Small stature of the horse: “She’s a little country cup’s horse in the next month or two. We are going to have a lot of fun with her, she’s very tough and honest. She just tried her heart out with the big weight.”
“I lost my nan yesterday. All the family would be at home watching.
“First -up I changed the riding tactics on her. She had an awkward draw that day and I just felt that she’s only little and it’s hard for horses to do it at both ends. I thought by changing her racing pattern, changing her mindset, she’s not as aggressive and she conserved that energy for when she needed it.
“She hit a flat patch today. She’ll get 2000 (metres) no problem. Maybe she got lumbered with the weight and she got bit of a bump from the inside one which urged her on. She was really strong on the line so I had time for a salute…. Beautiful.”
