“Probably the only stage that we were a bit nervous was on the home turn (when) hoping she gets a clear run.
“She, being Jamie and him being Hasseltoff, he was full of running.
“I thought he was a bit unlucky last time. He was the winner of the race but loser of the photo. I think we’ll just target these benchmark 70 races at Flemington, he’ll still be in that bracket at his next run so if we can pick them off we’ll be happy.
Distance choices: “I’ll speak to Jamie but he won convincingly today. Around this distance suits pretty good for now.”
Winning Jockey: Jamie Kah
“(Position on the home turn) was probably the only thing that was going to get him beaten today. When you’ve got that much horse underneath you it doesn’t need much of a gap for you to take it. He just gave be a beautiful ride and when the gap presented he was in and out in a second.”
Could he get 2000 metres: “Definitely. He relaxed beautifully. Obviously did it easily but I said to Mat that if there was a horse in front of him he’d have chased it down. He’s probably even better ridden even further back, but after today he’ll win better races than that.”
