On how she came to the stable: “Myself and my partner Paddy (Bell) travelled over to Dubai, we met John Nicolls, he runs the quarantine over there. He’s just getting into sending a few horses down this way and we were definitely lucky enough to get this mare. ”

On the win: “We are rapt with the result today. We’ve always had a really nice opinion of her, she’s just a tough, honest mare. Still doing a little bit wrong so today’s win had plenty of merit to it. ”

On her next runs: “We’ve always just been taking each run as it comes, obviously this is her first prep coming over from Europe, but she’s a tough mare and handles her work really well.

“We’ll keep taking each step as it comes, she’s well bred so if we can aim for a bit of black type and get that on her card then she’ll make a nice broodmare down the track.”

First time on Turaath: “The team made me aware that she can be a little difficult, as in she can get a little bit fired up within herself. I took her down to the start nice and quiet and got her in a really good headspace for the race. I was a little surprised I was a touch further forward than I probably planned to, but it didn’t seem to affect her with the weight.”

On track: “It was my first time out there today. It doesn’t feel like a genuine (Soft) 5. We might get to a (Good) 4 at some stage.”
