Magnificent preparation: “She’s hard to gauge. We really liked her going to The Valley on the minimum, tight track, and thought she’d run well. It was a different scenario here. He didn’t want to lead, so it would be interesting to see what Dean says. The 1700 (metres) is probably a bit further than what she wants right now. I don’t think she’s a filly I’d be wanting to take to 2000 metres. I think we might come back to a mile which may mean she has a little freshen for a race like the Stock Stakes. She’s getting up there now, she’s won nearly quarter-of-a-million (dollars) and her rating will raise a bit. There was no follow up from this raise anyway. So we’re rapt to get the win today. It’s good for Kaz and Gerard Lazare, they’re good friends and good clients and wasn’t an expensive filly and she’s doing the right things.”

Can just tick over until the Stocks Stakes: “We’re really lucky at Mornington. Turn right out of the driveway it’s 12kms to the beach. We’ve got Fulmen Park just behind us, there’s a water-walker, and we’re on 25 acres with a lot of paddocks. We’ve got everything we can use to keep them up and nice and fresh. I’m not sure how we’ll play it. We’ll see how she comes through the run first of all and then we’ll work out how we do it after that.”

Winning Jockey: Dean Yendall

Good again: “Shane has turned her out terrific order again. She’s still doing things wrong but she has a great will to win. I was in a mindset that Josh (Richards, on Leale) would lead on his horse like it did at Moonee Valley. I don’t think he stepped slow but I don’t think he was keen to push forward, but I was already there and I thought I might as well keep going and switch her off. She wanted to have a good look around at things here and there. She’s going well, doing everything right and I said to Shane I thought she was going to win by 10 (lengths) she was going that well. I could here the boys yelling at each other and they sound pretty far away at the time into the straight and when I asked her for an effort, she just gave everything she has.”

Stepping up to Stock Stakes: “Hopefully she can follow the footsteps of I Am A Star, maybe that is what is plan is, I wouldn’t mind doing that. She’s going well enough. There’s not reason why she couldn’t step up and do that. She’s adapted to that track quite easily already. All going well and she turns out well like Shane had her today, and she eats well and does everything right in the meantime, I wouldn’t see any issue in why she couldn’t go there and give it a shake. ”
