“She’s a tough horse. You can probably tell that she was getting a little bit tired late. Still a bit keen through the run. Obviously with that horse on the outside of her niggling her and she wanted to get going a bit early so she was probably a little bit vulnerable.
“She was tough enough to finish it off.
“I think she will in time settle a bit better and get out over further. She’s running so well so we’ll keep her over 1400 (metres) for now. Just keep taking each run as they come and go from there.
“We’ll just get her home and see how she is. She has had a big prep and we’ll see how she is over the next few days before we plan her next run but we were pretty happy to get another one on the board with her anyway.”
Winning Jockey: Jye McNeil
Different looking victory than Flemington: “It was a really good effort by her. The horse that sat outside us just fired her up a little mid-race and when she quickened down, she quickened really sharply. That’s why we were out on our feet in the final stages.
“Maddie’s done a fantastic job spacing her runs and keeping her in a really good mind frame and she keeps performing really well.”
An element of toughness: “Maddie did explain to me before the race that she is a little bit over competitive, which is the best way to describe her.
“When horses approach her she wants to get on with it and she felt them coming late and that’s what made her dig deep.”
