“She was good last start just got held up for too long. She takes 100 or 150 metres to win up so it was all too late for her at Flemington.

“It worked out really well today. She got that time to wind up. She is fitter and I’ll keep looking for these types of races for her especially if she can get some weight relief.

“I can see her as a June-July type of miler, and with soft ground form she could be a good one to look to something like the Rivette series.”

“Matthew sent me a text for how he’d like me to ride the horse and I rode it to a tee today. Just went back, followed the field and was able to round them up. They went at a really slow tempo which probably didn’t help in one respect, but was able to tack up when needed to.

“Getting to the 600 (metre mark) started to peel and follow Wanalirri, came to the outside and she wanted to roll in a bit out wide. I pulled the whip through the left (hand) and the rest is history.

“She’s turned the tables (on the last run). She’s a bit bigger than last time in. She won well first-up at Warrnambool. I was chasing her the whole way. She’s going places and definitely good to get another winner for Matthew and his crew.”

On the track: “Good grass cover at the moment but there’ll definitely be an upgrade, I’d say.”
