Ride of Alana Kelly: “She kept him very well balanced and probably rode like a rider a lot older and more experienced than her years and it showed in the latter part of the race the way he really let down well and won with a bit of authority.”
Future targets: “We might be a little bit sensible and go to an (Benchmark) 84 at Flemington in two weeks and utilise Alana’s 3kg claim and just see how we go and take advantage of the good prize money and then just see where we go from there. We won’t be silly yet but we’ve got plenty of time to be ambitious as we get deeper into the season.”
Bucking at Sandown: “Ne had never done it before. He had a little saddle on him and it must have pinched him. I don’t know why he did it. He’s a quiet horse. He’s a competitor and always has his game face on and for some reason he jumped out and bucked. We had to trial him again and naturally he hasn’t put a foot wrong before, or since and his form has been impeccable.”
Winning Jockey: Alana Kelly
Going through your mind with a wall in front of you: “I was a little bit nervous at the 600 (metres) that I didn’t have anything taking me into the race. I was very nervous at the 400 when I was stuck in there and Robbie would have been yelling at me. When I did get out, he let down really well.”
That turn of foot he has: “He saves it for late. He contains himself, but he’sdefinitely been stepping out in a professional manner.”
