“Gave me a really nice experience. A lovely feel over the concluding stages. He was going a little bit keen to the start so I just took him along nice and quietly. He was very well behaved in the gates.
“He didn’t have the speed early but I gave him the time and chance to travel onto the back of them and thankfully I had a nice horse underneath me in the final stages.”
On the track: “There’s a little bit of kickback. Obviously the water hasn’t had a lot of time to soak in so they’re really getting into the top of it. I don’t think it’s a complete Heavy 9 but if feels more like a summer wet track to me. It doesn't really feel bottomless like it can be. I thought the track is in good condition for now.
“(Metro jockeys) have put our nose in front.”
City Coach - Denis Pagan - folded formguide in hand: ”I’ve sat down and got Deane Lester’s mail and he’s right on the ball for me. How could I go wrong? First two winners, Jye’s got up for me. Damien just got into second place and it was a Powerplay for Kevin’s team and we (still) got more points so that was a real win.”
Sheedy commented that Country are good and will hit back, Pagan replied “if you are really good people will tell you, you don’t need to tell them.”
