“She probably got a little bit lost in front there at the top of the straight and didn’t really know how to knuckle down. We saw that at Flemington and it took her until the last 50 metres to flatten out.
“She’ll take good benefit away from it.”
Think any strife in straight: “I suppose if the other horse came at her quickly and caught her by surprise.”
Take her to Queensland: “We’ll let her take us along. She’ll go to Queensland, whether it’s for a race or a holiday, she’ll determine that in the next few weeks.”
Is the best to come as a three-year-old: “She’s only a whippet of a thing, a little girl. I’m not sure how far her physique will take her. Ability, there’s plenty of it. Is she going to be big and strong enough, that probably going to be a question mark.”
Winning Jockey: Luke Nolen
Good enough today: “She was good enough today. What she has done at home has been far more impressive. She stepped OK and I just let her get into the race at her leisure and she was going to drop right out the back. I just thought coming to the corner I was on the best horse, I’ll sit three deep, and that was probably my intention pre-race. She was tradesman like today. I probably made a blunder with her gallop on Tuesday. It was a little deflating but I feel she’s got a lot more upside. Although she’s a winner today, I think she can go on to bigger and greater heights than this race today.”
Did she find when second horse loomed: “I think she did. She’s been so natural at home and hasn’t had to do a lot under pressure so that was good that she responded and she’s open to further improvement, albeit she only had a run a little while ago. There’s improvement there, there’s an option to go to Queensland and we’ll see where she gets to this prep.”
