“That was awesome!
“It was a great run, his first-up run, and we got held up at a crucial stage. The plan was to sit behind and hopefully run over the top of them again and that’s that we did.
“I thought we were a bit too far back so I thought we weren’t going to to anything today but he’s a big baby and he doesn’t know what he’s doing at the moment.
“My husband picked him out at the Ready To Run and we always go for these problem horses that have got throat issues and he was one of them.
“We’ve given him plenty of time and it is paying off now.”
Winning Jockey: Pat Moloney
“Danielle is a terrific horsewoman. She does a good job with her small team. She gets a lot of horses that are broken-winded and rectifies that. She did the same with this horse. He’s got a little wind issue but he’s pretty sound otherwise.
“He’s a nice promising horse.
“I reckon he should have won his first start, admittedly. He’s just not the sharpest out of the gates and we got ourselves in a slowly run race and got out late and whooshed home. I said after that wherever they go next he’ll win.
“I said that they should put him in on Bendigo Cup Day. Up against the colts I thought ‘maybe not today’ but he showed it.
“Danielle has a lot of faith in him and a lot of faith in me. It was pretty soft in the end.”
