Winning Trainer: Peter Gelagotis (part-owner Michael Green speaking)

“What a fantastic run today. Peter Gelagotis has done such a fantastic job with this horse and we’re so proud to be here.

“The horse is named after Danny Frawley, who was a part-owner of the horse and of-course Anilta has taken over that.

“Spud is going to be looking down on us today and it’s fantastic to win.”

“It was a really great ride by John Allen and a fantastic preparation by Peter Gelagotis. We’re so thrilled.”

Great for owners to be trackside to enjoy it: “We’re thrilled to be here.”

“Danny was a great friend to all the owners and Peter Gelagotis the trainer, so to get this win today is special and hopeful we can go on to bigger and better things.”

Being patient: “We didn’t want to rush this horse along. He’s had a sustained preparation. Today is not the grand final. We’re on to bigger and better things hopefully.”

Winning Jockey: John Allen

First experience on him: “He wasn’t the quickest away but we landed in a good spot after having to waken him up to get in front of the ones in front of us. We then got a lovely camp in behind the speed. He was always travelling well. He had a tendency to lay in but always finding plenty and was strong through the line. I had a job to pull him up after the race. That’s always a good sign.”

Danny Frawley’s deeds before arriving in Australia: “There seems to be a big crew of owners there and it’s good to see them get a good thrill out of it. We’ve been missing out over the last year or so, so it’s good to see owners and people back at the races.”
