Stringing two wins together: “It was a good effort, we were pretty confident coming in. He was a track and distance winner last time, he’s been very impressive all prep and it’s good to see him get another win.”
Going for a spell: “I think he’ll definitely head to the paddock now with the Spring in mind. Michael was very keen to try him in the Warrnambool Cup (2350m) on Thursday but the rain put an end to that. There’s a lot of options.”
Winning Jockey: Patrick Moloney
Compared to Easter Cup win: “It was probably a touch weaker than the easter cup but he had to go up in weight. We were afforded a lovely barrier again and a lovely economical run. It’s good for him to string two together.”
How the race unfolded: “It was a bit slower run than I would’ve liked meaning that I had to get there a bit sooner than I would’ve liked because he’s a bit of a thinker but I’m glad I had Pancho breathing down my neck because he’s as much of a thinker as my boy.”
On his preparation: “He’s certainly come back a much more rounded horse as a gelding and he’s got his mind on the job, last start he won by a nostril, today he won by half a length so hopefully he’s getting some confidence out of it. He’s got serious ability but he just needs to put his mind to it.”
