Winning Trainer: Anthony & Sam Freedman (Sam Freedman speaking)
On winning at 1400 metres: “His rating has been creeping up, he’s one of those horses that is very consistent and he’s a dream for his owner. The 1400 was what we wanted to try this preparation because his rating has just crept up that little bit and the sprinters are a little bit too sharp for him. He’s ticked that box today and he’s got a great record at Caulfield and his big group of owners will have a good time tonight.
Future plans: “The John Dillon on Australia Day is a possibility - his rating is going to go up, he’s probably won by too far so we’ll have to raise the bar again. He’s earned his rating, he just keeps winning.
Winning Jockey: Alana Kelly
On the run: “The late scratching actually worked out really well for him and he was able to get there quite comfortably and control it - he likes being the dictator rather than being dictated to.
On 1400 metres: “Speaking to Sam before the race he thought he was his top there at 1400 but on that he’s definitely run it out strong.
On a Saturday double: “It’s good to keep the ball rolling.
