Nearly sold to Hong Kong: “He got an offer from Hong Kong but fortunately for me and fortunately for the owners he failed the vet’s test.”

Potential: “He’s always shown us plenty and I think he’s getting better as he gets a bit older, it helps with Rebel Raider’s to get a little bit older and he’s living up to his promise now.”

During the run: “I was a bit worried on the point of the corner because they hadn’t gone hard and I thought geez, these leaders might stick on a bit but anyway, it turned out a great ride.”

Next run: Not sure, now he’s won that and shown so much promise he may have a break and come back Spring time.

Winning Jockey: Craig Newitt

Running well in Adelaide: “His last couple of runs have been outstanding, being a natural lightweight I was able to be johnny on the spot and got the call. He’s a lovely horse, he’s got really good ability, he’s still learning what it’s all about but I’m sure he’s going to win a nice race.”

How the race unfolded: “He was a little bit cheeky behind the gates but in the run he gave me a beautiful ride, I bounced really well, I was torn up whether to stay one off (the fence) but I would’ve been three pairs back so I elected to go to the box seat. It was a moderately run race and I was strung up a little bit on the corner but his ability and his turn of foot got him out of it.”
