Getting back to form: “Obviously we had him there a couple of Springs ago and he won very well and ran very well in a Bendigo Cup. He was going okay over the Summer but he wasn’t appreciating the really firm tracks. We put him out and brought him back with this time of year in mind. He put the writing on the wall last start and we got a good ride again from Craig today.”
Strong stayer: I thought he was strong, he was probably there to be beaten a way out and stayed on really well late. He rode him really well, with 53kg and being such a strong rider, it was a really good option for him.”
Winning Jockey: Craig Newitt
Feel of the horse: “He’s just an out and out stayer, he’s got a bit of class about him. He hasn’t won for a while, he was enthusiastic from the gates, he bounced really good, travelled nice. I was happy when the tempo came on from a fair way out because it just allowed me to pop off the fence and give him a clear run from the half mile.”
Strength late: “Probably from the three, four hundred they were there to challenge him but he felt, had they gone another furlong, he’d have still been in front. He’s a pretty good stayer.”
