“That was one of the biggest and best battles (to the line) I’ve been in. I headed Motty (Jamie Mott) on his horse and went toe-to-to all the way up the straight.

“Of course it is good to come home on top.

“He benefited a lot from his first-up run and put it all together today. I thought the race would flow a bit better.

“It was run at a moderate tempo and I had a smooth run to get to Motty but it was a battle to get past him.”
