“He’s got the european form and and the european form said that he’s a good horse. He was probably a good thing beaten first-up. We were probably hoping he’d do that and his trackwork suggested he’d do that. They just have to do it.

“Great bunch of owners - they Seymour team, Neil Werrett and the rest of the crew, they guys that had stayed in him from Europe.”

Future: “Certainly he was a good horse in Europe. His form and his price tag suggested that. He needed to come over here and do that and he did it”

“He just needed a good tempo because I was always going to go back from the gate. On the point of the bend I started traveling up too good and Worthily just popped.

“I was traveling that good that I was able to come back in for cover at about the 600 (and) I didn’t just want to let him go but when I brought him out it was over in a matter of strides.”

Not surprised by the effort: “I’ve done a bit of work on him and he’s a very good horse. I supposed when they win like that it is a bit of a ‘wow’ but I thought he’d win like that and he did.”
