Winning Trainer: Ciaron Maher and David Eustace (David Eustace speaking)

All credit to Zac for the ride: “Ten out of ten ride. We thought Froggy’s horse (Cyclone Sally) would roll forward and we could sit off it, but it didn’t jump very well and Zac took the initiative and he got it absolutely bang on. She’s fit and well and it’s a credit to the team having her spot on. She’s not an easy mare to get right but everything fell into place.”

Rose Of Kingston next?: “I would think so. We’re pretty keen to get her to a mile, fit, and rolling along at that tempo. We do think she will stay a mile. She’s a little bit hard on herself at home, but the team at home have got her in a really nice rhythm so I’m delighted for Tony and Lyn (Ottobre). They put an awful lot into the game, they’re here to watch her win. It’s great to get a win for them. They’ve really backed the stable recently, so hopefully there’s plenty more.”

Winning Jockey: Zac Spain

Surprised to find the lead so easily: “I was expecting Cyclone Sally to be a bit quicker but she missed the start again as she did at Sandown last start. As soon as that happened, my girl flew the barriers, so I gave her a squeeze to show my intentions and once we got there she got into a really nice rhythm and from the 600 (metres) I kept building and gee she was strong.”

Take chances when they come: “We have to be full of confidence, that’s for sure, especially when you’re riding for the good trainers. Ciaron and Dave place their horses very well, the same with Peter and Paul Snowden. They’re good trainers as well, so to get an opportunity for them I was able to capitalise.

“A big thank-you to my manager Dave, he does a massive job getting me these rides and a big shout-out to Tony Ottobre, the owner, he’s a big supporter of mine of late. To get one on the board in town is really pleasing.”
