“It is so good for the owners and the horse really deserves a win like this.
“Blake Shinn, what do you say. He summed it up. I was a bit nervous being outside the lead but he knows what he is doing and the horse just kept fighting. Great result for the owners, and also for the horse. She deserved a win on a night like tonight.”
Brave: “She was headed and I thought we were gone but she’s a tough, big, strong mare and we were toying with the idea of sending her to stud this year but she just keeps putting her hand up so we’ll wait another twelve months.
“The team are working so hard so it is no surprise that the horses are racing so well.”
Winning Jockey: Blake Shinn
“She was tough. Got into her for that last two or three hundred. Tokorangi ranged up. She’s a strong middle distance style of horse.
“I allowed her to increase from the 600 and Luke is a great conditioner of his horses and I was confidence that she would be in the finish.”
