The horse: “I made a massive mistake thinking he could handle a bit of cut in the ground and you saw how dynamic he was on top of the ground today, it’s the first time he’s been on a track like this for a while. It’s been a massive team effort, we’re really a small team but we’re all working hard to get the result.”
The ride: “Fair play to Etahn, I said ‘you are going to have to be aggressive’ and everyone said we wouldn’t lead and i was surprised how far he kicked away from them at the end” I said to him ‘don’t leave any doubt here’ , I didn’t know that he was going to hold his spot but he did everything i asked and it was a great result.
Optimal distance: “he’s been effective over 11 & 1200, the thing about him today that was really surprising was he presented so calmly in the yard and was beautiful behind the gates so he might relax. Even though they looked to be scooting along he seemed to have plenty left at the end.
Winning Jockey: Ethan Brown
The run: “When I saw Midwest slightly miss the kick it was my intent to lead , we went very quick, geeze he won well in the end. That’s what this horse can do when he puts his mind on the job, he’s an extremely smart horse and Cindy had him cherry ripe today”
The horse: “He was getting tired late which he was entitled to but he still did it with ease which gives you a lot of confidence going forward, he’s only going to take benefit from that and very exciting times ahead for cindy and the stable with this ”
