Winning Trainer: Luke Oliver
On the win: “It’s such a great win, obviously for Don and Udyta and the horse, she really deserved to win this spring. She was so good through the winter and she’d been going super without the luck you need to win one of those Group races. It’s been a long prep and she came here in really good condition and she was never going to lose that race. ”
On the ride: “Jamie had her in a great spot , she was still keen but that’s when she runs he best and on the corner I was pretty confident she was going to get the money.”
On the horse: “She loves the 1400m, and she loves a wet track but today, a good 3 , she’s just a very tough mare and she’s only going to be better next year - exciting times.”
Winning Jockey: Jamie Mott
On the mare: “Luke and his team have done a fantastic job prepping this mare - my good mate Dan Stackhouse normally rides her and he’s in New Zealand today where he got a treble before they called them off (Riccarton). I was just lucky enough to get on her today”
On the run: “She got into a lovely spot and she travelled really nice. When a couple of them made their move it meant I could get off the fence but then I was able to circle them and she was strong to the line”
On the track: “The ground is pretty quick out there and once you get to the 600 (metres) until you get the straight but you need to be on speed by the time you get to the 600”
