The performance: “I thought it was a great performance, he was hot favourite and he’s got fantastic form around him in Europe but to do that today and watch him just coast around, to be three deep the whole way pretty much with cover though and then put them away nicely without any hard riding i thought ‘we’ve got a really exciting horse going forward’”

Future plans: “I think this time next year I think in the spring we’re going to have a really exciting horse, he’s run a track record here today and he’s nowhere near trained up yet, he’s really a 2000-metre horse, to do that today it just means he’s going to be a really nice horse but he’s low in the ratings he’s got to go through the grades and this time next year I think we’ve got a serious horse. ”

Options: “(The Eclipse Stakes) yeah definitely, we’ve got to try and get those wins where we can and get that rating up through the autumn and the spring. It’s great for Mark Pilkington and Darren Thomas, they’ve been great supporters , we’ve got to produce the wins for them so we can get back in to that Carbine room next spring.”

Winning Jockey: Damien Oliver

The horse: “He’s a lovely horse but he still feels quite immature. He’s only a three-year-old by European time and he’s got nice upside. But he just feels like you wouldn’t want to go too deep in this prep and i think you’ll really benefit the next prep.”

The performance: “He hasn’t got an electric turn of foot but he does build momentum well and probably on a track that’s not too suitable for him  - you’d like to see him on a bigger track he’ll really appreciate that.”
