On the win: “I’m surprised, I’m in shock, I’m lost for words and people who know me know that's pretty rare. I never thought this horse would be the type of gelding that would win two in a row. He’s a bit older and he’s got great first-up form. His last gallop leading into this race just wasn’t that good, but he’s a bit of a thinker and we gallop him without the blinkers but I’m so proud of him, he’s got fantastic owners and credit to the team at home , just to keep an old gelding like this interested in racing is a great credit to the team.
On the psychology: “These older horses it’s just about keeping them happy and enthusiastic about their work which he really wasn’t his last gallop so I was worried, I was pretty apprehensive but he just never looked like getting beaten today.”
Next race: “I don’t see why not (Chester Manifold Stakes) he’s just hit his straps , we space his runs, we keep him happy and enthusiastic so it’s good to see him back in the winners’ circle.”
Winning Jockey: Ethan Brown
The win: “He’s obviously got great first-up form, for him to run way he did today was exceptional , it shows he probably is a horse on the up”
The horse: “He’s very easy to ride, he was a bit slow out today but to the horse's credit he really toughed that race out, i just kidded to him up the straight , he hit the front a long way out”
