Winning Trainer: Andrew Forsman

“He’s hard work. Dean managed him brilliantly there - it was a ten-out-of-ten ride and that was the winning of the race, and he’s improving.

“He’s getting there slowly but he’s got a head of ability as well.

<May stick to the mile next start but will see>

Winning Jockey: Dean Holland

“He’s not an easy horse. I’ve got to thank Damian Lane. He gave me a call before the last start and he told me all his little quirks.

“I held him the other day, but just. I was mindful of that today and I wanted to get him to switch off in the early and middle stages of the race and, to be honest, he ‘dropped the bottle’ out of the gates and just had a lovely run. I honestly thought it was game over after that.

“Every time a horse came to me in the straight he really fought them off. Good effort.”

Opportunity of the ride: “I’m probably lucky he is a hard horse and I rode him last start but I can’t thank Andrew Forsman and his team enough for the opportunity.

“Obviously Damian Lane kicked up for me at some stage and I think this is my first winner on Caulfield Cup Day at Caulfield. Good thrill.”
