The Darren Weir trained Sixties Groove is the roughie attracting most interest to win next Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup.
Of the top ten biggest potential collects on the race that stops the nation, six are on the six-year-old gelding, highlighted by a $1,000 wager at $201 for a collect of $201,000.
“Sixties Groove has been backed from $201 into $101 for the Melbourne Cup,” TAB’s Nick Quinn said.
“Sixties Groove would need to win the Lexus Stakes at Flemington on Saturday to gain a start in the Melbourne Cup.”
In early betting, Sixties Groove ($9) has been the second best backed to win the Lexus Stakes.
