Early Melbourne Cup plans have been laid for classy UK stayer Magic Circle.

The recent winner of the Chester Cup over 3450m could be heading to Flemington in November according to his trainer Ian Williams.

Williams will get a clearer idea of his Australian plans after Magic Circle runs in Thursday’s G3 Henry II Stakes over 3200m at Sandown.

“He seems to have come out of the race at Chester really well,” Williams reported.
