Trainer Stephen Burridge enjoyed a memorable weekend notching up a winning quartet with a winning double at both meetings.

Lim's Elusive collected Burridge's first victory in the second event on Friday night, before former Australian based galloper Run It Twice brought up a running double in the third.

Previously under the care of Kris Lees, Run It Twice joined Burridge's care off the back of a maiden win at Newcastle late last year.

Unseen for over 250 days, Run It Twice was well supported and failed to disappoint when too strong on-speed for the much in-form Corey Brown.

Run It Twice

After jumping away well from the wide gate, Run It Twice pushed up to eyeball the Shane Baertschiger trained Red Dawn in the lead.

Travelling well inside the 400m, Run It Twice lengthened nicely when asked for his effort drawing clear inside the 200m.

Throttled down late, Run It Twice did it easily saluting by just under a length.

His second win from just six starts the son of Bradbury's Luck improved marginally on his previous best and now appears capable of taking that next step.

Prior to coming over to Singapore Run It Twice's best form had been achieved over 1300m and given he will only strip fitter, he is likely to follow a similar progression for his new stable.

Comparatively he recorded the fastest time of the night and the decisive beaten margins suggest it is a solid piece of form moving forward.

If placed in suitable company at his next outing Run It Twice is expected to acquit himself well and is a must for your blackbook.

Poseidon

Another galloper who impressed on Friday night was the Cliff Brown trained Poseidon, after he simply dominated the final event.

Surprisingly just his second career win, the son of Gold Centre has never missed the money from eight starts, including four second placings.

Marked early doors as a galloper to follow, he hasn't quite lived up to expectations however he now appears poised to fulfil that promise.

Returning from a three month break, Poseidon jumped away well on the outside before eased back to slot in just off the speed in fifth.

Held together entering the straight, Poseidon ambled up to the lead under double wraps before let rip inside the 300m.

Displaying a sharp turn of foot, the four-year-old quickly shot clear leaving his rivals standing still.

Eased down late Poseidon won by a widening four lengths and lived up to his heavy market support, starting the equal favourite with Timo.

Poseidon broke 22 seconds for his last 400m and averaged 11.17 second 200m sections for his last 800m.

Improving five pounds on his previous best, Poseidon appears more than capable of spring boarding off that mark and when assessing Timeform predictive ratings, back to back wins looks well within his reach.

Groenewegen

On Sunday afternoon fellow Cliff Brown trained galloper Groenewegen is another worth keeping safe moving forward.

Stepping out for just his second career start the son of Commands followed up on his narrow debut defeat, when making light work of his rivals in the second event.

Ridden by Michael Rodd, Groenewegen flew out of the gates before setting a very leisurely pace out in front — 26.02 seconds for the first 400m.

Ears pricked under a good hold passing the 600m, Rodd waited as long as he could before unleashing Groenewegen inside the 400m.

Quickly kicking two lengths clear he continued to increase his margin passing the 200m and did it as easily as you would have liked, saluting by just shy of four lengths.

For the second time in his career he returned time figures ahead of the bare form and remains open to further improvement moving forward.

Likely to be tried over further in time, Groenewegen is a galloper you can follow with confidence.

Shanghai Bund

In the final event of the weekend, the Michael Freedman trained Shanghai Bund confirmed the form through Rafaello when winning easily over 1400m.

Only narrowly beaten by the latter first up, Shanghai Bund relished the step up to 1400m when winning easily under Barend Vorster.

His second win from eight starts, Shanghai Bund always travelled strongly and put the race away at the top of the straight.

A dominant on-speed performance, Shanghai Bund improved marginally on his previous best and appears set for a good preparation this time in.

He may be tested up to a mile this preparation and if able to continue his upwards rating spiral, more wins appear in store.
