Former shuttle stallion Xaar is proving to be an outstanding broodmare sire for Australian conditions.

Rich Hill Stud’s golden spring continued at Riccarton on Saturday when their home-bred colt Xtravagant became the 14th Group One winner produced by the stud’s resident foundation sire Pentire.

Xaar, the sire of the dam of last Saturday’s Viliers Stakes winner Ninth Legion, has over 400 winners including 31 stakes winners from use in Ireland and Australia but only one has succeeded at G1 level

A colt by Golden Slipper winner Sebring topped the first session of the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale at the Gold Coast on Tuesday.
