Dual Melbourne Cup placegetter Prince Of Arran will line up in next week's renewal of the race in good order after pleasing connections in his latest workout.

Apprentice Aled Beech, who is overseeing Prince Of Arran's preparation in the absence of trainer Charlie Fellowes, was on board for a solo gallop around the Werribee turf course proper yesterday where the northern hemisphere seven-year-old covered his final 1400 metres in a hand-timed 1:32.81, running home the last 600 metres in 35.82 seconds.

"It was a solid piece of work, I was happy with how he took me around the course and kept on quickening," Beech said.

"I liked the way he stretched out the last couple of furlongs (400 metres)."
